Each month we publish a summary of the filings submitted to CADE, with the panel for the period, the PDF bulletin and the open datasets available for download.

Public sources

CADE — Brazil's Administrative Council for Economic Defense
Primary source: public records and documents of merger filings, with URL, case number, parties, publication date and procedural stage.
Receita Federal — CNPJ Public Data
Registry enrichment source: official open dataset, republishable and refreshed monthly. It provides CNAE codes (converted into sector and subsector), state, legal nature, share capital and ownership records, used to rebuild the control chain and the economic group. As it is a monthly snapshot, companies and shareholders registered after collection only appear in the following refresh.

Methodology

  • Each transaction is dated by its initial filing; when that date is unavailable, by the first public document. The date of the latest procedural step never defines the deal month.
  • The status shown reflects the current public position of the proceeding.
  • Acquirer, target company/business and CNPJ are identified and displayed separately. For joint ventures, mergers, incorporations and contracts without a target company, the parties to the transaction are shown instead.
  • A missing CNPJ is reported as “not applicable” (foreign company or asset) or “not available in the public version”.
  • Official text is always distinguished from the categories and groupings produced by JK Capital.
  • Each sector, category and economic-group classification records the rule applied and the review performed.
  • The information is public; JK Capital's work lies in organising, classifying and reading the filings.

Limits of interpretation

  • A filing with CADE does not prove completion, financial closing or integration of the transaction.
  • Control, value or structure are not inferred beyond what the verified public sources state.
